It Pays to Activate Your Travel Insurance Early, Why?

Don’t miss out on Travel Inconvenience Benefits.

Do you know Chartis Travel Insurance’s Trip Cancellation benefit starts 60 days prior to departure date? For the same premium you pay, activate your travel insurance as soon as your book your trip!

It is interesting to note that the vast majority of travellers typically short change themselves whenever they activate a single trip travel policy.

If you are reading this right now, you are likely to be one of them.

Why is that so?

A typical travel insurance policy will include benefits such trip cancellation, trip postponement, closure of travel agent, etc. Vast majority of travellers typically miss out these coverage since the travel insurance is only activated within a week of their trip or “just” before they set off.

Given that the premium is the SAME regardless if you activate your travel insurance policy 1 day or 1 month before the trip, you effectively loses out from “Travel Inconvenience Benefits” for each day you delay your travel insurance upon your trip confirmation.

To compound matters, such benefits will typically include a waiting period of around 7 days. In short, to enjoy protection benefits such as trip cancellation & trip postponement, your travel policy must have been issued at least 7 days prior to your trip. Thus, it does not make dollars sense to wait.

Not sure how the “Premium is the SAME regardless if you activate your travel policy 1 day or 1 month before the trip”?

I tried to price the quote based on different start date for insurance coverage and got different pricing. So premium is DIFFERENT. Or do you mean the insurance is effective immediate upon purchase regardless of when is the travel period?
